My Mission

As someone who has chosen to travel down the path less taken, I empathise with those who are interested in walking this journey but have struggled to find their tribe.

When I made the decision to study clinical neuropsychology in 2008, I was working and living in Asia. There was hardly any resource by way of published information or person I could consult. I met with several academics, whose advice was helpful but limited as neuropsychology was just too niche. I made long-distance telephone calls and wrote to professors in Australia to discuss my options. I consulted course convenors in England. I looked at American professional training programmes, which were way too lengthy for my liking. I even ended up considering Asian clinical psychology programmes, because they were the closest thing to clinical neuropsychology I could find.

Paths converged and things eventually dovetailed, and in 2014 I graduated with my Doctorate in Clinical Neuropsychology from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, on a scholarship.

Today, I continue to choose to stay on the road less travelled. My mission here is to share my journey, have some fun talking about neuropsychology, and be a tribe member to aspiring neuropsychologists. Outside of work, I think that there are everyday applications of neuropsychology, and I illustrate this through the hobbies I engage in, such as learning foreign languages, spiritual pursuits and inquiries, brainstorming novel business ideas, as well as investing and wealth-building.

I remember my DPsych course director, whom I hold in great esteem, telling me about her vision to spread neuropsychology to every corner of the world. This is a vision I share and hope to realise through performing my vocation to the best of my abilities, and that includes putting out my message on this platform.

May this be of benefit.
